Curiosity connects us.
Practice brings us together.

A founder-led collective connecting RF, drones and UAS, and cybersecurity through practical technical education.

Explore RF Village

Our direction

Where RF, UAS,
and cybersecurity meet.

Airspace Collective is solely owned by Evan Kirstein. We connect RF, UAS, InfoSec, and cybersecurity through hands-on education, technical exploration, and community collaboration.

We produce and host RF Village experiences for conferences and technical communities. Community education and engagement is our current public focus.

Secure airspace operations and advisory remains a research direction, not an active service catalog.

Portrait of Evan Kirstein

Evan Kirstein

Owner and Founder Airspace Collective, LLC

Evan Kirstein is the owner and founder of Airspace Collective, LLC, a veteran-owned firm building and hosting independent RF Villages and hands-on learning experiences for conferences and technical communities. He works in information security governance, risk, and compliance at a federally regulated financial institution, with nine years across systems and network administration, internal red and blue team work, and GRC.

Evan's technical interests run through software-defined radio, spectrum awareness, wireless security, mesh networking, 3D printing, and drones and uncrewed aircraft systems, along with the cybersecurity connections between them. His research covers RF survey work and off-grid communications, pairing 3D-printable FPV airframes with LoRa mesh nodes to put text and GPS back in the air after a disaster takes the internet, the cell network, and the power with it. Evan has presented that work at conferences such as Wild West Hackin' Fest, CactusCon, KernelCon, NOLACon, and Antisyphon's AntiCast.

Airspace Collective presents the RF Village at conferences and events with participation from Renaissance Drone Consulting. Evan designs and runs the floor, including an intentionally vulnerable drone simulator, a spectrum waterfall wall, RFID and NFC cloning stations, and decoding challenges. Evan holds an M.S. in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University, is a licensed amateur radio operator and ARES emergency communications volunteer, and co-founded Study GRC, a nonprofit offering free governance, risk, and compliance training to the public. His teaching starts with visible, repeatable experiments, giving learners a responsible path from passive observation to controlled, consented security testing.

Portrait of Luke Canfield

Luke Canfield

RF Village Collaborator and Special Projects Advisor Founder, Renaissance Drone Consulting, LLC

Luke Canfield is the owner and founder of Renaissance Drone Consulting, LLC, a veteran-owned firm delivering drone construction, security, and forensics training to military, law enforcement, rescue, and disaster response teams, built on more than eight years of federal and state cybersecurity work in vulnerability management, security assessment and risk management frameworks, OSINT research, and security automation in PowerShell and Python.

Luke's technical work covers drones and uncrewed aircraft systems, 3D-printed airframes and legal MTOW builds, wardriving and war-flying, counter-UAS detection, and the cybersecurity connections between them, including collaboration on Airspace Collective's RF Village productions on behalf of Renaissance, contributing drone security, RF analysis, and counter-UAS content to the village floor, and separately advising Airspace Collective. He is a returning conference speaker, presenting “The Drone Renaissance: The Attack Surface Now Includes The Sky” at Wild West Hackin' Fest Deadwood, SecureWV, Simply Cyber Con, and BSides Delaware, as well as “The Drone Renaissance 2: #DronesForGood” at Wild West Hackin' Fest Denver, KernelCon, and NolaCon.

Luke holds an M.S. and a B.S. in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University and a B.A. in International Studies and Geography from West Virginia University. He served in the West Virginia Army National Guard from 2008 to 2015, and his research into asymmetric threat modeling, influenced by hybrid warfare theory and the work of John Robb, explores tactical applications of drones, 3D printing, and field-deployable automation in contested and civilian spaces.
